FAQ Homemade Dog Treats
How do I store homemade dog treats?
You can keep these cookies at room temperature for a day of two, but afterwards they should be stored in the refrigerator or freezer. They will keep in the refrigerator for 10 days and in the freezer for months.
What peanut butter is safe for dogs?
Any peanut butter that doesn’t contain xylitol. Xylitol is life threatening to dogs and can cause severe liver damage. We also like to avoid peanut butter that contains sugar, salt, and added oils. Just plain peanut butter with nothing added is our choice!
How much is too much?
Dogs should only be given peanut butter in moderation. A small amount (1 tsp) a day is fine. 1 teaspoon of peanut butter contains 3 grams of fat. Peanut butter is high in fat and calories, so less is more.
